Morocco: “S comme Savoir, Soutenir, S’engager pour une meilleur promotion et protection des droits des enfants”

General objective: To contribute to the strengthening of the protection of 276 children and young people abandoned or at risk of abandonment and their rights at the political and social level

Specific objective 1: Strengthening the capacities of 40 social workers of the authorised structures managed by associations, of 100 vulnerable families including single parents, of 50 media professionals in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Fez-Meknes and Marrakech-Safi regions.

Specific objective 2: Strengthen and increase protection services for vulnerable children, including abandoned children and children at risk of abandonment in the Tangiers-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Fez-Meknes and Marrakech-Safi regions.

Specific Objective 3: Intensify the actions of the Plateforme CDE Maroc and its influence at national and international level in the promotion and protection of Children’s Rights.

The project includes several training opportunities and at all levels, both for operators of the partner care facilities in the project target regions, also on the specific topic of intermediation necessary for the social integration of adolescents leaving the care system (care leavers), media operators and families on responsible parenting issues. Other activities include the provision of psychosocial support services for minors in the facilities, for adolescents leaving the care system and legal and administrative assistance for families with particular fragility and vulnerability. A lobbying and awareness-raising action at a civil and political level will accompany the actions, seeking to increase attention to the defence of children’s rights at a national level, both civil and institutional, also through the growth of local coordinations of non-state actors.

The project started on 1 May 2023 and will end in April 2025
