The general objective of the intervention is to contribute to better protection and assistance of abandoned children and children at risk of abandonment in Morocco. The specific objectives of the intervention are:

  • Improving the access and quality of EPS services and public social services dedicated to the protection of abandoned children and the prevention of child abandonment in the Fès – Meknes and Eastern regions;
  • Strengthening the capacities of organizations in the Fez – Meknes and Oriental regions involved in child protection and abandonment prevention, coordinating state and non-state actors engaged in child protection, and promoting the prevention of abandonment in the Fez regions – Meknes and the East;
  • Strengthening national and international advocacy on the protection of abandoned children and the prevention of abandonment in Morocco.

Expected outputs and proposed activities: (PE1) 300 institutionalized children at risk of abandonment in the regions of Fez – Meknes and the East receive specific assistance in relation to their age and psychological condition and (PE2) 100 vulnerable women and mothers at risk of abandonment are advised and assisted.

The project, which began in 2021, will end in February 2023.
